Stand out in a crowd, with an outstanding website
Having your business online is one of the best things you can do to attract visitors and potentially customers. But did you know that there are currently over 1 billion websites in the world? So it begs the question: how do you stand out in a crowd? Well, luckily the Bottle Post Media team is very good at making sure your website is set above and apart from the competition. In this article, we’re going to tell you about our 4 C’s, the steps we take to you make your website outstanding and engaging.
The first step we take in creating a website or web shop is to ask questions. Questions like: what products or services do you offer? Who’s your target audience? And how do we create a clear and simple message that all visitors will understand? More often than not your home page is going to be the first impression of your website, and because of this, it’s also the best opportunity to clearly communicate your website’s purpose. Clarity also helps search engines like Google, to correctly categorize your website according to keywords relevant to your business and products so that current and future customers can easily find you online.
Why does someone visit your website? Seriously, take a moment and think about it. It is to gather information, to understand the solution that your products and/or services offer. Your content is the single most important component in increasing sales and gathering more customers. The content on your site has to be displayed in a clear and simple manner. Which of course ties in to our first C, use clear language that will peak visitor’s interests; encouraging them to want to know more about your business. Your outstanding website has to be search engine optimized (SEO), which means the right keywords in your content, headings and meta tags.
Okay, yes, I admit that “Navigation” would be a better and more accurate name for this step, yet not as catchy, but I digress…
Another important feature of an outstanding website is the course it invites visitors to take. We think through your web pages’ structure so that it has a logical flow. Because well-structured pages with a clear course will intuitively lead your visitors to relevant sections of your website. They will then have an easier time navigating to the information, services or products that are most relevant to them.
Building an online community for your business is a great way to stand out in the crowd. Things like Facebook “Likes” from your business Facebook page, an Instagram or Twitter follow button will allow visitors to connect with you. Having a Pinterest business account is also a great additional way to sell your products or services online. And of course blogs are a great way to have a regular conversation and build trust with your visitors and customers.
